2023 CTC Meeting Schedule

 CTC - CalAPA assessor training

Dear CAPEA Members,

What do educators gain from joining this important work?

·       By participating in the CalTPA and CalAPA assessor training processes and discussions, teachers and leaders learn deeply about the expectations (TPEs and CAPE) for quality teaching and leading measured by these two performance assessments.

·       By attending and calibrating at the two day training, educators who support the development of new teachers and leaders will gain valuable and specific understanding about the requirements for effective practice and how to support candidates as they engage with these required assessments.

·       Professional development. Educators who join the process have the opportunity to discuss teaching and leading with other colleagues, contribute to furthering understanding of effective beginning practices, and to gain insight about the range of teaching and leading practices that candidates are able to demonstrate from across the state.

·       Assessors are paid for their time to attend the training and for each submission scored once calibrated.

We are still seeking assessors for both the CalTPA and APA to join us for trainings.
